Jack Linden posted on his LAND AND SEA  blog that the issue with bots will be resolved in a very positive and well thought out solution. Bravo Jack! and thank you for all your dedication to listening to what the Residents had to say.

I was so taken off guard by Linden Lab's final position that I dusted off this blog because it suddenly feels like a breath of fresh air, a true SecondWynd.

The Bot issue has been weighing on my mind for the last year or so. I have one bot so far, a chat bot that sits at the entrance at the castle at Forever's End – Foyle Gully MLSL, who's purpose was to be as a greeter and to manage the band's SecondLife fan group  Forever's End Vampire Club.

At the moment Nevermore the Bot has not been activated more than just to exist as a possibility, mainly providing amusement as it is very challenging to try to reason with the AI engine currently installed.  The reason for this state of my bot project was why spend time and research providing a great Bot Experience if the future was dim for their very existence in SecondLife? So we have waited and hoped that the truth would be seen between the lines of the naysayers and the exploiters, that Bots can be good and useful tools for landowners, business owners and maybe lonely avatars (companion bots, there's a thought- pay me 10% commission if you make them!;).  Now Nevermore's future is secure and I can start working on the bot program again. Thank you Linden Lab.

With this post I declare I am back after being gone for over a year due to RL circumstances. Now those same circumstances have forced me to re-examine my Real Life and what do I really want to do with it. It seems so appropriate that this announcement should arrive at a time when I was reviewing what to start with. I have decided to return to my roots, my background is not just the computer field, I am also an artist, a writer, avid reader, sometime programmer, role-player, serious gamer, poet, amateur scientist, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. But most of all in my heart of hearts I am an Explorer, since exploring Space is not an option for me in RL, where is the next frontier for me?

As much as I liked to say that I figured it all out already, I haven't. My last employment experience left me disillusioned, leaving me without faith in the corporate world of technology to provide me with a place where my talent, integrity and skills are recognized over the secret office politics and delusions of others, a place where I can contribute to a future I want to live in by allowing me to sustain my existence in this time of financial instability with an income. But alas, no, apparently that's not for me.

The above picture is Foyle Gully, MainLand, SecondLife. In the exact center is Meteor Lake, named by the original Sim owner who purchased the Sim at auction when it was new. This is my SecondLife home, my land, the only land I may ever own in this life of mine. It has evolved into a sweet, peaceful Sim, though it has had its historical moments, it now fits like a well loved glove.

Come visit Nevermore the Bot and IM it for a conversation, it still is not programmed with information about the band and land, but it is fun to talk to and I could use the help testing it for any unallowed behavior. Check out the castle, walk around the lake, heck walk in the lake, it's all good.

Sometimes the Universe has a way of forcing the change one tries to resist. There's a old saying my mommy use to say to me, "It is easier to ride the horse in the direction it is going…" and the teachings of Water is 'Go with the Flow'. So that is what I must do, follow my heart.
